Series III Programmer Driver Installation on Windows 8 and Windows 10

FAQ Article

Datakey KeyLink III Programmer and Development KitQ:  Are the drivers for the Series III programmers (e.g. SlimLink III, KeyLink III, etc.) compatible with Windows 8 and Windows 10?

A: Yes!  Series III programmers support Windows XP, Winows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10.  Both 64-bit and 32-bit drivers are available. The latest drivers can be downloaded here.

Note:  The latest drivers are digitally signed.  Previous versions of the drivers were not. If you are trying to install an older driver for a KeyLink III (or other Series III) programmer on Windows 8 or Windows 10, you may receive a message similar to the following:

Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while
attempting to install it.

The third-party INF does not contain digital signature information.

By default, the Windows 8 and Windows 10 operating systems require drivers to be signed.

To avoid the above message you can download the latest signed drivers, or to use the older unsigned drivers, follow the procedures mentioned below to disable driver signature enforcement:
