Q: Are the drivers for the Series III programmers (e.g. SlimLink III, KeyLink III, etc.) compatible with Windows 8 and Windows 10?
A: Yes! If you are trying to install the drivers for a KeyLink III (or other Series III) programmer on Windows 8 or Windows 10, you may receive a message similar to the following:
Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it. The third-party INF does not contain digital signature information.
By default, the Windows 8 and Windows 10 operating systems require drivers to be signed. Currently, the Windows drivers for the Datakey Series III programmers are not signed. This does not mean that you cannot use a Datakey Series III programmer on a Windows 8 or Windows 10 PC. It just means that before installing the drivers you simply need to disable Windows' driver signature enforcement.
