Check out this application note to learn about how to determine whether a device is authentic or authorized by validating its credential (a Datakey CryptoAuthentication memory token) using Symmetric Authentication. The application note explains what Symmetric Authentication (aka Symmetric Key Authentication or Symmetric Encryption) is and explains common terms like challenge, nonce, digest and more. It walks through the process step-by-step and even calls out which functions in Microchip's CryptoAuthLib library to use for each step.
Datakey CryptoAuthentication memory tokens work with Microchip's development boards and tools, including Microchip's Quick Start Lab that covers:
This resource tells you everything you need to get started and includes a video showing how to get everything set up for the labs.
Register for a CryptoAuthentication™ Development Kit
Thank you for your interest in Datakey CryptoAuthentication™ memory tokens. Each quarter, we hold a drawing for a CryptoAuthentication development kit. To register, simply complete the form and press the Register button. The development kit consists of a Microchip CryptoAuthentication SOIC XPRO Starter Kit (DM320109), an extension board and two CryptoAuthentication memory token samples. Those drawn will be contacted by email.
