Mini-Bar Series Our smallest portable memory system

Mini-Bar Memory Tokens

Leveraging industry-standard serial EEPROM memory, Datakey offers Mini-Bar tokens with SPI or I2C interfaces and standard capacities of 16 Kbits and 256 Kbits. The tokens feature:

  • Ultra-rugged Construction – Mini-Bar memory tokens are solid over-molded using a durable composite, making them impervious to liquids and virtually crush-proof.
  • MIL-STD-810 Tested – Mini-Bar memory tokens have been tested to MIL-STD-810H standards for immersion, salt-fog, freezing rain, altitude, blowing sand and dust and more.
  • Easy-to-Handle – Though about the size of a microSD card, Mini-Bar memory tokens are easier to handle.

Mini-Bar Receptacles

Mini-Bar receptacles are designed to mount on the surface or in a corner of an enclosure, using a minimum amount of volume. This, along with the product's small size make it ideal for small, handheld applications. Additional features include:

  • IP67 Rating – All Mini-Bar receptacles have an IP67 rating and can ship with or without a pre-installed adhesive gasket. The small design also minimizes radiated emissions.
  • MIL-STD-810 Tested – Mini-Bar receptacles have been tested to MIL-STD-810H standards (with and without mated Mini-Bar tokens) for shock, vibration, immersion, salt-fog, blowing dust & sand, freezing rain, altitude, and more.
  • Open Design – The open design of the Mini-Bar receptacles allow for easy in-field cleaning. The contact system employs a wiping mechanism to clear any material with each insertion.

MBLink Programmers

It is often desired to use a PC to read data from or write data to a memory token. The MBLink programmers support all standard Mini-Bar tokens and connect to a PC via a USB port. The programmers come with Windows® drivers and a sample application. The sample application can be used for troubleshooting when integrating a Mini-Bar token into an embedded design, as it provides a known-good way to communicate with the memory token. For those who wish to develop their own Windows® applications, we offer a development kit with all of the necessary tools, including the programmer.

MBLink Development Kits

The MBLink development kit includes everything needed to develop a Windows® application that can read data from and write data to a Mini-Bar memory token using an MBLink programmer. The development kit includes:

  • 2 – Mini-Bar memory token samples
  • 1 – MBLink III Programmer
  • 1 – Mini-Bar receptacle
  • Plus drivers, software and documentation
