Industrial DFX-IS Series Memory Tokens

Datakey DFX-IS memory tokens deliver SD card functionality in a more robust and secure form factor than consumer and industrial SD cards. As part of the Industrial RUGGEDrive line, DFX-IS tokens utilize SD memory that is rated for operation over the entire industrial temperature range of -40˚C to +85˚C. DFX-IS models utilize pseudo-Single-Level Cell (pSLC) 3D TLC NAND flash, while DFX-I models utilize 3D Triple-Level Cell (TLC) NAND flash. Electrically, DFX-IS tokens utilize a standard SD electrical interface (per the SD specification) – including support of SPI mode communications for embedded applications. The SD memory used in the DFX-IS memory tokens has a fixed/controlled-BOM (bill of materials), meaning that the SD controller IC, its firmware and the NAND flash are fixed. They will not change from lot-to-lot, like they can with consumer SD cards. If the SD memory used in the DFX-IS memory token does go end of life (EOL), ATEK will issue a product change notification (PCN) documenting the change. For applications that require the token to have a fixed BOM, contact us for details. In these scenarios, a custom part number will be assigned. Changes to the BOM would not be allowed without first issuing an EOL notice.

DFX-IS memory tokens utilize solid over-molded construction using tough, synthetic materials that protect the embedded memory from harsh environmental influences, such as dirt, moisture, chemicals, and electrostatic discharge. The tokens can also be OEM-branded with a company logo, used in place of the Datakey logo. This field-proven, rugged and reliable memory token and mating connector system deliver flexibility for embedded system designers - allowing for integration of a secure SD removable memory device in challenging applications and environments.
